Shopping Cité - Baden-Baden
The Cité in Baden-Baden is a former French barracks and military settlement that has been converted into a new city district since the withdrawal of the French armed forces from Germany in 1999. The existing buildings were partly demolished or extensively rebuilt. New residential and commercial real estate was created and the Cité developed into a new, civilian-use district. The Cologne architect Helmut Rübsamen designed a brilliant complex with two attractive domed buildings. In November 2006, the Shopping Cité retail park opened with a sales area of approx. 18,000 m², areas for leisure uses and approx. 1,000 car parking spaces.
